The Union Atlas Step On® is a men’s snowboard binding built for riders who want fast entry, direct board control, and a more technical all-mountain setup. This version combines Union’s established binding construction with the Step On® Instant Connection™ System, delivering quick in, quick out functionality without moving away from a performance-focused ride feel.
Positioned as a versatile option for all mountain, freestyle, and freeride use, the Atlas Step On® is designed for riders who value efficiency at the top of the run, but still expect reliable response once strapped into their board setup. Union describes it as a platform for total control, with an emphasis on precision and power transfer across varied terrain.
The binding has a stated flex rating of 6/10, placing it in the medium range. On snow, that gives it a balanced character, supportive enough for faster riding and stronger edge input, while still maintaining enough mobility for all-day use across resort terrain. The included adjustable forward lean and adjustable gas pedal allow for a more dialed fit and stance feel, depending on riding style and boot setup.
Construction details are clearly performance oriented. The binding uses an S1 Step On® Duraflex CB baseplate and matching S1 Step On® Duraflex CB highback, paired with a Hi-Flex HP EVA bushing and non-stick HP EVA gas pedal. Union also specifies an extruded 3D aluminum heelcup, integrated 2-stage FLAD, and grade 8.8 steel hardware. Canting is not included.
Compatibility is equally straightforward. The Atlas Step On® comes with a Step On® 4×2 Disk + Washer and a Step On® Channel Disk, making it compatible with both 4×2 and Channel mounting systems. As stated by the brand, Step On® bindings are only compatible with Step On® boots.
At 1.70 kg, the binding sits in a solid performance category, backed by Union’s warranty structure, lifetime for the baseplate and heelcup, and 2 years for everything else. For riders looking for a faster interface with a proven all-mountain binding platform, the Atlas Step On® is a clear, functional choice.
