Forum Snowboards Devun Walsh Legend Series Snowboard

The Forum Devun Walsh Legend Series brings a piece of snowboard history into a modern riding setup. For 2026/27, Forum revisits Walsh’s first pro model from 1998 with updated construction. This is a board for riders drawn to freestyle heritage who still want a supportive platform for proper days on the mountain. The Forumula8 Pro die-cut sintered base completes the premium construction.

Traditional camber and a directional twin shape give this board a clear place in an all-mountain setup. Camber creates a loaded platform between your feet: press into a turn and the board responds with support, then use that stored energy when taking off from a roller or side hit. The twin-style outline keeps freestyle riding in the picture, while its directional character suits riders who spend much of the day travelling forwards.

Forum rates the flex at 7/10. That makes this a supportive, fairly firm option for riders who already link turns comfortably and want more control when putting pressure through the board. It makes sense for confident intermediate and advanced riding, especially if your day mixes groomers, natural features and freeride terrain. When choosing it, think about how actively you ride: a firmer camber board rewards deliberate input and good technique.

The SuperSnap GnarLEcore combines poplar and beech, while Flylight Hybrid glass uses a mixture of triaxial and biaxial reinforcement. The wood provides the foundation of the flex; the glass helps determine how the board bends along its length and twists between your feet. Carbon-reinforced aramid Booter Boosters add reinforcement to the construction, supporting the energetic response that makes this platform appealing for stronger riding.

Choosing the right length matters as much as choosing the model. Consider your weight, boot size and preferred terrain together. A shorter option can feel easier to move around, while more length can provide a more settled platform. Boot clearance also depends on board width, binding angles and the size of the boot’s outer shell. If you are between sizes, ask the Behind The Pines team to compare the complete setup with you.

Keep the base waxed and look after the edges to get consistent performance across changing snow. Pair it with appropriately supportive snowboard bindings, and read our snowboard guide for a practical explanation of camber and board choice. Build the rest of your setup around the same priorities. A supportive binding and a boot that holds your heel help you apply pressure consistently, but stiffness alone does not make a setup better. Match the board to your current ability and usual terrain, then choose a size you can control comfortably throughout a full day.
