The Ride Current 2027 is Blake Paul’s new pro model, built for a fluid approach to the whole mountain. Think linked turns, natural transitions and a powder line when it opens up. It is a tapered directional board, so its shape favours riding forward, but the interesting part is how Ride balances support with the ability to adjust your line.
The Multi-Cam profile blends traditional and reverse camber. Rather than treating this as a familiar rocker-at-the-ends formula, it is worth understanding the construction around it. The board has moderate torsional flex between the feet, with a firmer nose and tail. That allows steering input through the middle while retaining support at the ends when you load the nose in soft snow or land towards the tail.

Multi-Cam — schematic hybrid rocker profile, not to scale.
Ride rates the overall response as aggressive. The more manageable twist between the bindings therefore should not be mistaken for a soft beginner board. The Current suits intermediate riders with confident control, advanced riders and experts who want manoeuvrability without giving up support. If you like to change turn shape as the terrain unfolds, this combination is more relevant than chasing a single flex number.
The tapered radial sidecut uses one radius and is set back to align with the stance. All sizes have a nose 5 mm wider than the tail, with 19 mm of insert setback. Those dimensions give the shape a clear forward bias without a large amount of taper. Riding switch remains possible, but a rider splitting every run equally between directions should weigh that directional character carefully.
A Performance Light core combines paulownia and aspen. Linear Carbon 10 runs ten carbon strips beneath the core for snap, while Carbon Array 5 distributes input from the binding area. Hybrid Glass balances torsional response, and Single Impact Plates reinforce the binding zones. Slimewalls add urethane damping along the sidewalls. The Sintered 4000 base receives a stone-ground finish and rewards regular waxing.
Start sizing with your weight and boots. The 157 has a 251 mm waist; the 160 is 254 mm and the 160W is 262 mm. The wide 160 keeps the same effective edge as the standard version while adding boot clearance. Choose it because that clearance suits your outsole and angles, not simply because wider sounds more stable. The Current is not presented as a Volume Shift model, so do not automatically downsize it. | Manufacturer geometry; availability is shown in the size selector. W = wide. Taper is calculated as nose minus tail width. Setback is rearwards from centre; stance and setback inch values are converted to mm and rounded. Weight ranges are guidelines. Sidecut radii are entry / focus / exit. * For the 145, Ride’s model page lists 1096 mm effective edge; its general sizing guide lists 1090 mm. The model-page value is shown. | ||||||||||
