The outer is made from NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop, using recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution. Inside, a slick jersey backer improves comfort and keeps the jacket easy to pull on over other layers. The construction meets Patagonia’s H2No™ Performance Standard, giving the Granite Crest a balanced waterproof and breathable build suited to changing mountain weather and consistent day-to-day outdoor use.

Material choices are kept considered throughout. The fabric, membrane, and durable water repellent finish are all made without intentionally added PFAS, maintaining the jacket’s technical purpose while offering a cleaner material profile. A two-way adjustable hood with laminated visor helps manage visibility and coverage in rain, whether worn on its own or over a helmet. For output-heavy use, two-way pit zips provide direct ventilation without needing to open the front of the jacket. Low-profile cuff closures reduce excess bulk at the wrists, and the adjustable hem drawcord is routed through the front pockets for easier on-the-go adjustment and a neater fit under a backpack. When conditions improve, the jacket self-stuffs into the left chest pocket, making it easy to pack away without taking up much space.
