The Patagonia Men’s Insulated Boulder Fork Rain Jacket is built for cold, wet conditions where dependable weather protection and light insulation matter. Designed for use from winter alpine approaches to early-season fishing, it combines a stormproof shell with low-bulk warmth in a focused, streamlined format.
The outer uses a waterproof, breathable H2No® Performance Standard 3-layer shell, built for long-term waterproof durability and day-long comfort in changing weather. The fabric, membrane and durable water repellent finish are made without intentionally added PFAS, keeping the construction cleaner without changing its functional intent. Inside, a light, air-permeable stretch ripstop liner works with 40-g Thermogreen® 100% recycled polyester insulation to provide breathable warmth without making the jacket overly heavy or restrictive.
The feature set stays practical and compact. A low-profile adjustable hood with laminated visor gives better visibility in poor conditions, sheds water effectively and lies flat when not needed. The waterproof exposed front zip is paired with chest pockets and high-set watertight handwarmer pockets, sized to carry field essentials such as a map, notebook or fly box while staying accessible around layers or equipment.
Weather sealing is handled with minimal cuffs with hook-and-loop adjustment and a hem drawcord routed through the front pockets. This reduces bulk under a pack waistbelt while helping seal out wind and rain. The overall design remains intentionally clean, keeping the jacket packable and easy to wear across technical outdoor use as well as everyday wet-weather commuting.
Finished in Black and cut in a regular fit, this is a versatile insulated shell for users who want reliable waterproof performance, moderate warmth and Patagonia’s understated technical approach. It is also made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.
