The Patagonia Men’s Micro Puff® Hoody is a highly packable insulated layer built for cold, variable conditions where low weight and dependable performance matter. In Clement Blue, it combines a clean technical look with a construction focused on mobility, compressibility, and efficient warmth.

This hoody uses an ultralight, windproof Pertex® Quantum shell made from NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop, sourced from recycled fishing nets. The fabric is finished with a DWR coating made without intentionally added PFAS, adding light weather protection while keeping the build streamlined. For insulation, Patagonia uses PlumaFill, a lightweight synthetic fill designed to replicate the structure of down while maintaining warmth even in wet conditions. The result is a layer with an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and high compressibility, well suited to mixed weather, changing output levels, and travel where space is limited.

The quilting construction is designed to stabilize the insulation with minimal stitching, helping preserve loft while keeping the jacket light and efficient. A center-front zipper is paired with a storm flap for added protection, and a zipper garage at the chin improves next-to-skin comfort. The hoody is cut in a regular fit and patterned for high mobility, with a backpack- and harness-compatible fit that makes it practical as an alpine midlayer, an outer layer in dry cold weather, or a reliable insulated piece for everyday winter use.

Storage is kept functional and straightforward. Two zippered welt handwarmer pockets are joined by two internal drop-in pockets for gloves or quick-access essentials. The left pocket also works as a stuffsack and includes a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop, making the hoody easy to pack and attach when moving fast. An under-the-helmet hood keeps the profile simple and technical, while elasticized cuffs and an adjustable hem help seal in warmth.
