This version uses a 100% recycled waterproof, breathable face fabric with Patagonia’s H2No® Performance Standard 3-layer construction, designed to balance day-long comfort with durable wet-weather performance. The 3-layer build gives these pants a more complete protective feel than lightweight emergency shells, making them well suited for repeated use in unstable conditions. For practical on and off access, the pants feature welted two-way side zips that run from the cuffs to the thighs. This makes them easier to pull on over boots and footwear, and also adds useful ventilation when conditions shift or effort levels increase.
At the lower leg, the partially elasticized cuffs are finished with a snap-tab closure for a more secure fit around footwear. This helps manage spray, rain, and trail splash while keeping the silhouette functional and clean. Storage is kept simple with two handwarmer pockets, each built with mesh pocket bags and protected by storm flaps, offering a secure place for small essentials while maintaining weather resistance.
The regular version features a 32.5 inch inseam, giving it a standard full-length fit for general use. Despite the durable 3-layer construction, the pants remain relatively easy to carry at 335 g, making them a practical shell to keep ready for changing forecasts, extended travel, or daily use in wet climates.
