Smith Descend Mips® Black

The Smith Descend Mips® helmet is designed for riders who want advanced impact protection in a lightweight, low profile package. Built to balance safety, comfort, and climate control, it suits long resort days where conditions, temperature, and intensity can change quickly.

Protection is centered around a combination of Mips® and Zonal KOROYD® technology. The in mold construction fuses the outer shell with EPS foam, creating a single structure that reduces weight while maintaining durability. KOROYD® zones are strategically placed to absorb energy efficiently while allowing airflow through the helmet, supporting both impact protection and ventilation. The integrated Mips® safety system is designed to reduce rotational forces during angled impacts, adding an extra layer of protection without affecting fit or comfort.

The fit system is designed for quick, precise adjustment. An adjustable dial fit allows fine tuning with one hand, making it easy to adapt on the lift or during a quick stop. The helmet is engineered for seamless compatibility with Smith goggles, using the AirEvac™ ventilation system to channel warm air away from the lens and reduce fogging. This integration supports consistent visibility across changing weather conditions.

Climate control is managed through Regulator climate control vents, offering simple, one handed adjustment. With 16 vents, airflow can be increased on warmer days or reduced when conditions turn cold or stormy. Inside the helmet, the Ionic+® antimicrobial lining activates with moisture to help control odor, keeping the interior fresh during repeated use.

Comfort and functionality extend to the removable components. Snapfit SL2 ear pads provide insulation on colder days and can be removed when conditions warm up. These ear pads are audio chip compatible and designed to work with the Aleck® audio system, allowing riders to add communication or audio without modifying the helmet.

Weighing 400 grams in size Medium, the Descend Mips® maintains a balanced feel that avoids neck fatigue during full days on snow. It meets multiple safety standards, including ASTM F 2040, CE EN 1077 Class B, CPSC, and CE EN1078, making it suitable for a wide range of snow sports applications.

The Smith Descend Mips® is a refined choice for riders who want dependable protection, adjustable comfort, and clean integration with goggles and audio systems, without unnecessary bulk.
