The Volcom Guch 3L GORE-TEX Pro Pant in Black is a men’s snow shell for riders who build their clothing system around the day’s conditions. Its relaxed fit leaves room to move and to choose a base layer underneath. Think about how you ride: repeated lift laps, walking to a line and waiting in exposed places ask different things of your layers.

The construction combines three-layer GORE-TEX Pro with a Micro-Grid backer and fully taped seams. Volcom lists the fabric composition as 100% recycled nylon and identifies this style as PFAS free. The shell provides weather protection; it does not replace a warm layer. On colder days, select your insulation separately rather than expecting the trousers alone to determine comfort.

A medium rise and adjustable inner waistband let you refine the fit at the waist. Try the trousers with the layers you intend to wear, then bend your knees deeply and sit down. Check that the waistband stays comfortable and the fabric does not pull across your hips. A roomy cut is useful only when the waist and leg length also work for you.

Mesh-lined zippered vents and hip vents give you a practical way to release heat. Open ventilation before you become too warm during an uphill section, and close it again when wind or falling snow makes protection the priority. The exposed YKK AquaGuard zippers are water repellent. Treat ventilation and layering as adjustable parts of the same system, particularly when your pace changes throughout the day.

The Zip Tech trouser-to-jacket interface connects to a compatible jacket. Check that your jacket has the matching interface before planning your setup around it. Stretch boot gaiters with lace hooks help organise the lower leg around your boots, while reinforced hems and kick panels address areas exposed to repeated contact. Check the leg opening over your actual boots rather than judging the fit in everyday shoes.

A beacon-specific front pocket with tether D-ring and RECCO technology are part of the design developed with Bryan Iguchi. Follow your beacon manufacturer’s carrying instructions.
